Medical Gadgets                              

Medical Gadgets are Google Desktop mini-applications that can be placed anywhere on your computer desktop or in a sidebar organizer to provide ready access to medical information.

We have also created several non-medical gadgets.

Medical Gadgets require the free Google Desktop, and will run on Windows and MacOS computers.  

Medicare Reference Gadget

The free Medicare Reference Gadget provides direct access to the Medicare physician fee schedule, PQRI (Physician Quality Reporting Initiative) criteria and worksheets from the American Medical Association, and the 1997 Documentation Guidelines for Evaluation and Management Services. These three key resources are useful to any medical practice that bills Medicare.

Creatinine Clearance Calculator

The Creatinine Clearance Gadget estimates renal function with the  Cockcroft-Gault equation.  Knowledge of creatinine clearance is important for the assessment of renal dysfunction and proper dosing of medications that are eliminated by the kidneys.

Pneumonia Severity Index Clearance Calculator

The pneumonia severity index (PSI) Gadget helps assess the severity of pneumonia with a well established and validated tool.  The PSI has been used to determine which patients can be treated safely as outpatients, and identify those with the highest risk of death due to pneumonia.
